Designer Karishma Kasabia of ethical, body-positive Melbourne fashion label Kholo, will soon share the secrets of ‘aari’ embroidery, passed onto her during a recent sojourn to India. This centuries-old technique – similar to what is known in French Haute Couture circles as ‘tambour’ – is typically only passed down by practising artisans through familial generations. Some find the intricate beading practice meditative or mesmerising – see if that’s you (over coffee and sparkling).
/ Haute Couture Beading Workshop – Saturday 31st August, 2pm at The Windsor Workshop. Tix.
