Where to Find a New Trove of Treasures In Melbourne

Fashion & Style

Who isn’t a sucker for shine? Personally, we’re magpies for over-sized earrings around here. The Contemporary Jewellery Space at the National Gallery of Victoria is now home to dozens of local and global artists including Seb Brown, Pirdy, Bianca Mavrick, Melanie Katsalidis, Alexi Freeman and Kate Rohde as well as our new obsession ‘Geo-Alchemy’ by Aimee Fairman.

Being hosted in a gallery, the collection is not your average glitz. Instead the rare, limited-edition or exclusive pieces are architectural, sculptural, technical and sometimes downright bizarre…but always buyable. Add this space to your Melbourne treasure map (which should already note Pieces of Eight Gallery, Lucy Folk, e.g.etal, Julia Deville’s Subaqueous Locutorium, Metal Couture and Lord Coconut).

The Contemporary Jewellery Space is housed within the NGV Design Store, 180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne
