Delicate maidenhair ferns remind me of my late, great grandmother (she always kept at least one thriving). I hid under the cascading boughs of my father’s prized Japanese maple until I was no longer small enough to do so. My present garden is a forest of bamboo. For someone who sorely lacks a green thumb, I’m somehow much more contented when surrounded by plants. Cause for further happiness: curator Jacqui Vidal and interior stylist Alana Langan have opened a Botanical Emporium for their designer pot and planter label Ivy Muse. The space also houses plant-friendly goods such as blooming jewellery by Karen Walker, teeny terrariums by Miniscapes and rotating art exhibitions (currently Robert Bowers’ jungley pieces are on display).
